Kotzias on Novartis: 'No one is convicted in advance, but the scandals were real'

Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said he will vote in favour of a parliamentary inquiry into the actions of Swiss drugmaker Novartis, which allegedly bribed 10 politicians named in an ongoing judicial investigation.

Speaking in parliament, the minister said previous statements in which he reportedly said that those named will have to prove they are innocent are false, noting that his arguments was that the scandals are real but the judicial investigation will find the culprits.

"No one is convicted in advance but the scandals were real. Who is responsible? Let justice find it. I will vote for an investigative committee in parliament and will support the process. Because if someone is innocent, he must be returned into society as an innocent man. If someone id guilty, there must be a catharsis," he said.
