Continuing the research on public works in Greece, the newsbomb.gr today brings to light the profile of companies exploiting the Greek motorways.
As you will see below, most major projects - if not all - are assigned to specific companies...

These consortia are committed to doing the design, construction, maintenance and exploitation, for a specified period, of the highways of our country.
These companies have established joint ventures for each project and as for the increases in the tolls, the companies that have proceed in such measures, are listed below:

• OLYMPIA ODOS SA (Eleusis-Corinth-Patras)
• MOREAS SA (Corinth-Tripoli-Kalamata)
• Nea Odos SA (Athens-Lamia [Metamofosi - Skarfia])
• Aegean Motorway SA. (Raches - Kleidi)
Shareholders in these companies are the companies:

AKTOR CONCESSIONS SA: It is a subsidiary of ELLAKTOR SA, Greek multinational that operates in many fields other than construction, such as waste management, energy, real estate and more. AKTOR CONCESSIONS seen as one of the largest contractors worldwide and is involved in several major projects and management companies both within and outside Greece.

VINCI CONCESSIONS SAS: French construction company which operates in several European countries (France, Germany, Belgium, etc) but also in the world (USA, Canada etc) focused on the design, construction, maintenance and exploitation of infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, railways, airports and more.

J & P AVAX SA: Greek group of companies, which operates, apart from constructions, with the Real Estate, the prefabricated buildings, the Centers for vehicle inspection, the Construction-Management and Operation of Parking, facilities management, e-Commerce, Project Management and Procurement , impregnation of Timber, Exploitation of Renewable Energy, Development wind and photovoltaic parks etc.

ATHENA SA: Greek Construction Company belonging to the J & P AVAX

CINTRA: Spanish manufacturing company, primarily for the construction and management of highways in many countries of the world. It belongs to the Spanish group Ferrovial.

GRUPO ACS: Spanish multinational of the largest manufacturers of public projects on management and exploitation and to telecommunications.
GEK TERNA GROUP: Greek partners on public projects, the Real Estate, and energy.

HOCHTIEF: German multinational corporation for the construction, management and operation of public infrastructure projects. It was until last year the manager of the airport "El Venizelos" and recalled that is involving in the case of non-return VAT to the Greek government, of 500 million Euros.

It is obvious that all the great works of Greek highways were given to specific companies.
