“Russian Gift”: Gala concert of classic and folk music
In the framework of Russian Spiritual Days Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation presents to Greece audience unique concert of classic and folk music “Russian Gift” performed by young Russian talents.
Greece and Russia are united not only by developed contractual legal framework, numerous agreements on different levels, Political Declaration 2014 about subsequent strengthening of friendship and overall cooperation but first of all by mutual mental roots. 2016 is officially named Cross-Year of Greece and Russia.
Two states enthusiastically prepare spacious cultural and business program. But, indeed, friendship between these two countries isn't limited by special period of time therefore such event as the Gala-concert proves it. “Russian Gift” shows honorable attitude forward children from both countries, their respect and proper attention to children talent.
Athens hospitality grants to the Gala-concert the general stage of country – the former Royal Theatre now the National Theatre of Greece. Great honor for such young musicians, participants are from 9 to 17 years old, perform at this stage.
It stands to mention in spite of age musicians have rich concert experience in Russia and abroad, impressive list of honorees, participating in festivals and competitions, many of musicians are grant-holders of prestigious music foundation. Children present for audience program of unchildish difficulty, perform music of composers: Alexander Glazunov, Russian folk music, Mikhail Glinka, Petr Bulakhov, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Music will be played on balalaika and flute, pianoforte and bayan, violin and violoncello and also will be solo voice part.
International music language and childish openness to whole world represent this concert as unique way of communication. And especially in this case where we have dialog between two old friends – Greece and Russia.
