Samaras: Vote Dimas for President to stay in the EU

Maximou sends a message to Members in view of today's first vote in parliament to elect the President of the Republic, warning of the risk of a "political adventure that could be fatal."

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras' office on Wednesday (17/12/2014) issued the following statement ahead of the first voting for the election of a President of the Republic.

This announcement is similar with the previous statements of government officials, since once again involves the intimidation of the Members.

More specifically, the communication ends with the phrase that the vote can be interpreted as "avoidance of a political adventure that could be fatal for the European course of the country."

The statement of Samaras:

"Tonight, the first voting for the election of a President of the Republic will be carried out. During that voting procedure, positive votes are not considered a vote in favour of the government; but a decision to defend the Constitution and respect the institution of the President of the Republic, as well as an avoidance of a political adventure that could be fatal for the country's European course."
