Greece will not return to the past, government spokeswoman tells La Repubblica

Greece will not return to the past, government spokeswoman Sofia Voultepsi told Italian newspaper La Repubblica in an interview.

"We will have no more deficits and we will not go back to the past. The Greek people have made big sacrifices. The economy is on recovery, the primary surplus amounted to 2.7 billion euros in July and the unemployment rate has started falling," she said.
"Greece will exit the memorandum only after an agreement of the three institutional partners. It will continue following intently the programme," she said noting that SYRIZA's continuous demand for elections gave a message of instability to the markets, which threatened to hurt the country.
