Athens Stock Exchange opening: Strong rise
Equity prices were rising on Friday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 1.55 percent, standing at 1,005.41 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 25.76 million euros.
The FTSE/ASE Large Cap index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 1.67 percent, and the FTSE/ASE Mid Cap index was also up 0.83 percent.
On individual sector indices, the biggest gains were in Banks (+3.18 percent), Oil (+1.89 percent) and Financials (+1.23 percent). The biggest losses were in Food & Beverages (-0.41 percent) and Technology (-0.19 percent).
Of the stocks traded, 46 were up, 10 were down and 8 were unchanged.
