Athens Stock Exchange opening: Strong rise

Equity prices were rising on Friday, 31/10/2014, on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 2.83 percent, standing at 932.66 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 11.22 million euros.

The FTSE/ASE Large Cap index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 2.92 percent, and the FTSE/ASE Mid Cap index was also up 1.60 percent.

All individual sector indices were moving upwards while the biggest gains were in Banks (+3.30 percent), Construction (+2.65 percent) and Telecoms (+2.29 percent).
Of the stocks traded, 50 were up, 5 were down and 8 were unchanged.
