Paradisia - Tsakona: cost 15.000.000 € per kilometer...!

The disclosure articles of the Newsbomb.gr on public works, continues highlighting the action of major constructors and state.

The today's article of our website can only cause resentment, because disclosing how the major constructors succeeded ... milking the Greek state and the government boast that the roads will be finished...

A typical example is the highway Paradeisia – Tsakona; A road of just 11.4 kilometers. As you will uncover below, it is certainly the most expensive piece of work ever created worldwide!

Let's see in detail the data and talk with numbers:

The highway Tripoli - Kalamata constructed largely of PPP (public-private partnerships), except from the part Paradisia - Tsakona started in 1991 with the commissioning process of contracting with the state.
The section of 11.4 km, which cost 40 million Euros and joined in the second CSF but also was financed by national resources, was delivered in 2000 and 2003 collapsed after a landslide, at the point which is now constructed the composite arch bridge.

In 2006 was auctioned the road's rehabilitation project with the contractor c / o Alpine bau - TERNA, in a conventional figure 83.2 million Euros. Then with an additional contract of 40 million Euros, with additional consultants and two more additional agreements, the project reached "hopefully" to the total budget of 137.84 million Euros (B contract), plus 3.9 million Euros for any further consultancy services.

The project was included in the NSRF and the operational program of the Ministry of Transport (YPOMEDI) - Enhancing Accessibility - on 27.07.2011 with the Prot. ESA / OP 2659 decision to finance of 67.66 million Euros and the rest (137.84 + 3.9 - 67.66) = 74.08 million Euros from national resources of the PIP program.
In these figures are included the 19 million Euros required for construction of the arch bridge.

In more detail:

The Initial project budget was 751.269,956 drachmas. The state paid 16,172,433,406 drachmas. (Or initial project budget 2.204.754 Euros, and the state paid 44.526.583, 00 Euros), and due to final judgment were paid other 115.003.225 Drs. or 33,750,029 EUR. The total project cost reached 26,672,275,000 drachmas instead of 751.269,000 drachmas which was the Initial agreement. In Euros: 78,276,000 Euros instead of 2,204.000 Euros!

For the reconstruction of the road they had spend more. The final cost of the road is 15.000.000 Euros per kilometer!

As it is understood the project was also funded by national participation and support through European NSRF. At the same time the Minister Chrisochoïdis is willing to give 350 million Euros extra money to the concession company "MOREAS", to finish the projects up to Sparta.

All for the major constructors, while the Greek people cannot cope with their everyday needs.
