Emotions of a soldier: He knelt before the statue of Kolokotronis!
A soldier, immediately after the contingent at Square Areos in Tripoli, knelt before the statue of the Commander of the Revolution of 1821, Theodoros Kolokotronis. Our ancestors, the heroes who rebelled against the Ottoman Empire remind us during this difficult time that there aren’t large and small nations, but only small and great people.
As the newsarcadia.blogspot.gr mentions, the event took place at the finish of the anniversary march with the name “1st Trophy National Anniversary of March 25, 1821”, in honor of the National Day of March 25, 1821, which started at Aeropoli Laconia and ended up in Tripoli.
Who participated in the course?
A total of 72 members of the Armed Forces covered 85 km, bearing weapons and load beam, taking the route Areopoli - Gytheio - Sparta - Ano Doliana - Rizes – Lithovounia -Steno - St. Vasilios - St. Constantine -Skopi - Tripoli.
