Potami party leader Theodorakis visits Defence ministry
Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis visited the Defence ministry where he was briefed by the political and military leadership on the current situation in the Armed Forces and their significant role for the security of the country and the Greek society.
Defence minister Nikos Dendias said that all questions raised by Theodorakis and his associates during the meeting were answered and that Theodorakis expressed his views on several issues as well as the defence policy. He also assured that the ministry is at the disposal of the political parties for briefing on defence policy issues.
Theodorakis, on his part, referred to the crisis which “has not affected the citizens’ sense of safety as the army is vigilant.”
“The sense of safety is a necessary precondition for the much awaited development,” he said.
He also noted that in the defence sector the country has gone from overspending to penuriousness and that he believed there was no much room for cuts in security matters, apart from the rationalization of spending.
