Who is entitled to 230 euros for tablet and cheap internet?

With 100 million Euros, will be funded an activity of the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Posts related to subsidize of 290,000 beneficiaries, to obtain cheap laptop or tablet and cheaper or even free Internet connection.

Those interested in this social dividend can see whether they meet the criteria through Taxisnet system. The nearly 290,000 beneficiaries will be residents in eight regions of the country, who meet income and other criteria for the payment of social dividend, as stated in Government Gazette.

All those who meet these criteria will acquire a 230 euro voucher by which they can buy tablet or even laptop. Due to the wide variety of prices, each device may be available even free to the beneficiaries.

Each beneficiary will receive a rebate of 12 euro per month until the October 2015 to acquire or maintain broadband internet. Finally, the package includes 60 million for training on new technologies.

About the subsidy

The 290,000 people who meet the criteria are entitled to:

• a voucher worth 230 Euros which is exclusively for purchase a tablet or laptop
• 12 Euros discount per month, until the October 2015, to acquire or maintain internet connection
• 60 Euros for training on new technologies

• East Macedonia and Thrace: about 47.506 beneficiaries
• Thessaly: about 52.477 beneficiaries
• Epirus: about 22.588 beneficiaries
• Western Greece: about 57.702 beneficiaries
• Ionian Islands: about 13.220 beneficiaries
• Peloponnese: about 40.464 beneficiaries
• North Aegean: about 14.753 beneficiaries
• Crete: about 40.527 beneficiaries
