Messinia hotel upgrade plan approved for state funding

An investment plan upgrading an existing hotel unit in the region of Messinia, in the Peloponnese, was approved for inclusion under Greece's regional development programme by Deputy Development and Competitiveness Minister Notis Mitarachi on Wednesday.

According to the plan, Hospitality of Messinia (HO.ME. Ltd) company, currently being set up, will receive 9,973 million euros out of a total cost of 19,946 million euros in the form of a subsidy to upgrade the 613-bed hotel in the area of Velikas from a three-star to a four-star category.

It is estimated the investment will create 100 new jobs after the second year of operation.
