Passenger ferry returns to Piraeus after engine failure
Passenger ferry "Nissos Rhodos" returned to the port of Piraeus on Wednesday night after a mechanical failure appeared in the left main engine.
The ship had sailed from Piraeus at 21:00 this evening for Chios and Lesvos with 416 passengers, 91 trucks, 43 cars and 5 motorcycles on board.
Crews will have to fix the engine failure and present a seaworthiness certificate from the classification society it has registered to before it departs again for its destination.
