Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas, in statements after his victory in the Australian Open quarterfinals over Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut with 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6, said on Tuesday that he was confident that he can beat Rafael Nadal who is expected to face him in the semifinals of the tournament.

"I was very angry with myself the last time I lost to Nadal. I told myself that I can do better the next time. Also, I know how to beat him because now I know the way he plays. I did not want to say this but I feel that I can do it. Now I know the tactics that he uses much better and it will bring me great joy to get out onto the court, play good tennis and leave with a victory. I want this very much," he said.

Asked whether it was difficult to concentrate in the match with Bautista Agut after the thrilling game against Roger Federer, the 20-year-old Greek said: "It was very hard. Initially it was very difficult to process it and afterwards it was hard to get to sleep. I also had a pain on my leg that kept me awake. The first night was difficult, I slept less than six hours and I was worried about the coming match but the next night I slept much better."
