SYRIZA's Iliopoulos accuses government of refusing the requisition of private clinics

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance's spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos accused the government of persistent refusal to proceed with a substantial requisition of the private clinics, in an interview with a Star TV (Central Greece) late on Tuesday.

"More than 100 people in Attica are on the ICU waiting list," he said, noting that "even now that hospitals are 'in the red', the ruling New Democracy (ND) government denies the substantial involvement of the private sector in dealing with of the pandemic - as is done in so many foreign countries such as France, Italy, Germany - showing a government that operates in a dangerous way for the lives of citizens."

Iliopoulos criticized the government for "failing to take the necessary measures to address the spread of the virus on public transport and workplaces, which according to the World Medical Association are dangerous transmission spots."
