In a few hours from now, the Thessaloniki metro will open its doors to the public, government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis, said on Friday during the press briefing. "An infrastructure project that will change the city’s transportation map and contribute to improving traffic," he underlined.

Thessaloniki will acquire a new means of public transportation that is modern, fast, cheap and environmentally friendly. The delivery of the project to the service of citizens reflect the aspirations at the core of the strategy of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the government as a whole.

The completion of ongoing projects proves the determination for the establishment of green infrastructure and the strengthening of transport safety as well as the strengthening of the credibility of the political system, Marinakis added.

The government spokesman also referred in detail to the innovations of the new proposed system for calculating the minimum wage through a mathematical formula, adding that "the European directive aims to improve the living and working conditions of workers in the member states of the European Union and enakisstablishes a protective shield for all workers without exception."
