Housekeeper killed her newborn baby and throwed it in garbage
A Long Island housekeeper was accused Thursday of killing her newborn baby in the mansion where she works, putting the child in a plastic bag and throwing the infant in the garbage.
Santos Elena Ruiz Solano, 28, of Central Islip, was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder after she showed up at a hospital suffering from complications from childbirth, Suffolk County police said.
Detectives say they believe Ruiz Solano gave birth to a girl on Sunday.
The baby suffered traumatic injuries shortly after her birth and died at the scene," police said in a statement Thursday. "Ruiz Solano then placed the baby in a plastic bag and left the home."
