One million jobs were lost in Greece within 4 years

The unemployment rate in the third quarter of 2013 in Greece is the highest in the European Union.

After Greece is Spain, about one percentage point lower, according to the European Labour Force Survey.

About 1/5 of unemployed people in 2013, were in that situation since 2009.

This big unemployment duration is commonly found among people of 45 to 60 years old and people with no working experience!

Between the third quarter of 2009 and the third quarter of 2013, there is a loss of 904,200 jobs (-19,9%).

That significant loss was caused due to the closure of a lot of companies (according to IKA, about 75,600 companies) and due to the reduction on business's staff.

The number of the companies has reduced mostly in trade, construction sector, hotels and education.

Crisis affected mostly the unskilled workers, sellers, machine operators and office workers.
