A pregnant woman died after drinking vinegar in a botched abortion.
Catherine Furey, 38, who already had five children, drank the fluid in a desperate DIY termination. Now a coroner has warned about the dangers of people believing “myths” they read on the internet.
Catherine believed she could induce an abortion by drinking the industrial strength liquid after researching the subject online.
An inquest heard she had earlier tried to visit a doctor to arrange a termination but the surgery was shut.
