University professors oppose plans to turn Domokos prison
Criminal law and criminology university professors on Thursday expressed opposition to the decision to turn Domokos correctional facility into a maximum security prison in a document they forwarded to Athens Bar Association
The 41 university professors who signed the document, underlined that the decision to turn Domokos into a maximum security prison (Law No 4274/2014) will create serious constitutionality problems as regards the principles of equality and proportionality.
They also underlined that the principle of the presumption of innocence is violated, the constitutionality of the law is in doubt and European Court of Human Rights decisions are being violated.
