Stolen Picasso, Mondrian paintings found in Athens
Greek Police have recovered Pablo Picasso’s "Head of a Woman" and Piet Mondrian’s "Stammer Windmill" stolen by the National Gallery in Athens in 2012.
Police on Monday found the two artworks hidden at a gorge in Keratea, east Attica. A 49-year old man has been arrested.
The perpetrators also removed an early 17th-century sketch attributed to the Italian Mannerist artist Guglielmo Caccia.
Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis and Culture Minister Lina Mendoni will hold a press conference on Tuesday, at 11 am.
