Papastavrou and Tsafos in Brussels for the Council of Energy Ministers
The EU's strategy for energy networks and the energy agreements signed in the framework of the Transatlantic Energy Partnership Summit held in Athens in November, regarding the supply of natural gas to Ukraine and hydrocarbon exploration in our country, will be discussed, among others, at the Council of Energy Ministers to be held on Monday, December 15, in Brussels.
The Council will be attended by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, and the Deputy Minister, Nikos Tsafos.
According to the Ministry, the Council is expected to reach a partial agreement ("partial general approach") on the Connecting Europe Facility for the period 2028-2034. This is an EU funding programme to promote growth, employment, inclusion and competitiveness, through the effective interconnection of transport, energy and digital networks within and between Member States.
