Newborn baby found dead on the road
An 18 year old woman has been questioned over the discovery of a dead baby left on the road at Melbourne.
Police say the newborn was found in St Albans, in the city's west. A family member reported the death to police at 3pm on Thursday.
Officers arrived at Ruth Street in St Albans and found the newborn's body.
The homicide squad is investigating the circumstances of the death and interviewed an 18-year-old St Albans woman on Thursday evening. No-one has been arrested or charged.
