Specifically, Kammenos spoke to realfm 97,8 and to Nikos Chatzinikolaou, and said that the pressure, which will applied soon to the government in regard of the recapitalization of banks, will be intense because of the poor current state of the economy, therefore the measures which will be requested will contain a new memorandum, which will create a need for elections. Among others, the President of the Independent Greeks talked about the party of Stavros Theodorakis “The Potami” saying that the end of new parties is a fact, but stressed that it is too early to judge the course of the new party from the first polls.

Kammenos also said that his party does not belong to a particular political space but to the “Independent Greeks”, which he justified with the variety of political beliefs among the members of the movement. He added that he is in contact with Kostas Zouraris and Zoi Georganta for possible collaboration. Georganta is known by the complaints on a “dirty” role of Andreas Georgiou in ELSTAT and on “inflating” the economic deficit, which resulted to a memorandum. However, he clarified that it will not cooperate with Viron Polidoras, because the Independent Greeks don’t allow collaboration with anyone who has voted in favor of the memoranda.

On the issue of the crisis in Ukraine, he said that the government agrees with the views of Germany, although this is a clear case of a coup and reiterated complaints from Estonia, about political opposition that recruited snipers, who essentially killed people in Independence Square in Kiev, movement which was initially charged on Yanukovych.

Additionally, Kammenos said the Euro elections are very important, because they raise the question of whether someone is over the Europe of countries or the Federate Europe, something that the Independent Greeks are firmly opposed to. He stressed that if someone wants to place him among the eurosceptics for this reason, he should.

Kammenos also raised the possibility of support to SYRIZA nominations in the second round of local elections: “The convergences have already been done by the local communities”, and added: “However, in some places serious political differences will not permit convergence. So in one area, where the candidate backed by SYRIZA believes that there is a need for centers that host immigrants, we can’t make a political convergence. The local communities will choose and the second Sunday”.

Finally, he condemned terrorism from wherever it comes, but kept distances from the stance of Nea Dimokratia, that charged the prologue in the book of Dimitris Koufodinas by Nikos Giannopoulos to its political rival, SYRIZA.
