USA: A. Panagopoulos among the dead from the blast in Harlem
«Not more hopes... he is gone». With this touching message on her personal Facebook account, the journalist Liseth Perez Almeida, informed her friends about the death of her beloved Andrea, who was found dead yesterday among the rubbles in East Harlem.
Early Thursday morning rescuers found a body that belongs to Panagopoulos, according to a friend who accompanied his wife to the medical examiner's office.
The body of Andreas Panagopoulos, is expected to be transferred to Greece for the burial, said the Consul General, George Iliopoulos.
The 42 years – old musician, who lived in New York for more than 20 years, stayed in the second floor in one of the buildings collapsed due to the explosion in East Harlem, with the most likely cause of the gas leak.
"He was very proud of his heritage and every summer he travelled to Greece, in order to visit his family", said his wife in Wall Street Journal.
