Scandals… behind the curtain
One would expect that after what took place in Greece in the last four years, the economic development model would have changed. At least, as regards the issues of transparency, corruption and collusion that led the country to this point.
Unfortunately, even now that the country has tanked, some weird and obscure games are taking place "behind the curtain" and no one discusses about that. A peculiar "omerta" prevails in the majority of the media about scandals or the indications of scandals that are plain as day; about the disintegration of the National Bank, about the "sellout" of the public estate in Hellinikon, about the suspicious deals between Greeks and Turkish bankers, about the rumors for missing files from ELTE (Committee on Accounting and Auditing Standards) - the independent authority that checks the acquisitions. Not a word from the known "mischievous" media that did not devote even one minute video or a small column in the newspaper.
Newsbomb.gr will continue to reveal everything that smells bad in this rotten landscape, such as timely informed on 21 January about the intention of the lenders to seize everything.
We had even revealed the plan of the Germans to take the control of the National Bank and also the story about the property in Hellinikon.
The Greek people, however, have no idea about the blurry cases in the background because... nobody saw and did not hear anything about:
-the allegation about the exchange of shares between a private bank and the National bank, in order to save the first without the owner to put a cent for the recapitalization.
-For the acquisition of a private company by a subsidiary of a large group that is under state control, over astronomical amount.
- For complaints relating the resigned Adviser of the Ministry of Finance, who reportedly had contracts with audit companies which were manned with people belonging to his close circle.
- About the deal of NBG and Turkish Finansbank.
- About the sale of 6.200 acres in Hellinikon for a consideration of EUR 80 per square meter, while the objective values in the area reach 2,000 euros per square.
No comment from the major political newspapers and the TV channels of the "reputable" journalism.
Apparently the "reputable" journalism... fell asleep because she had eaten a heavy dinner that included many bundles of money which the system distributes through the advertising and the sponsorships.
Unfortunately for the known "mischievous", under these circumstances it is time the "National Silence" be disturbed. The knot reached the scallop and the Greek people have the right to know the truth. It is the responsibility and duty of politicians, the judiciary and the media to bring it all to light.
