China: Steel rod pierced a builder’s skull! (photos)

The fall didn't kill him, but the rod of steel that pinned through his jaw and penetrated his skull was dangerous! The builder Li Dehua was working on a construction site in China, when he fell from the window six meters above the ground, to land face down on a steel rod. Miraculously, the 47 year old worker is expected to recover fully after just 18 days of treatment, despite initial fears of doctors.

"It was horrible but the rod didn't hit vital parts of my brain" the unfortunate man explained from his hospital bed adding: "It did a lot of damage to my face, which I can't feel yet, but caused no damage to my brain". On his part, the physician Chung Hsieh said: "The human brain is an amazing organ, able to absorb huge losses and still survive". The incident happened in the city Xi'an of the Chinese province Shaanxi.
