Shame! Legitimize illegal buildings within the foreshore

They give the opportunity to violators on the beaches to legalize their villas by the sea...

Despite the fact that the illegal constructions and luxurious villas that are built into the foreshore in the past have created a huge uproar, the current government is trying to legalize them by a bill of the Ministry of Finance, in order to please the nouveaux riches and all trespassers.

Although previous governments had allegedly started the fight against trespassers and periodically were sending excavators and bulldozers with cameras of television crews to homes of ship-owners located by the sea, eventually do not shattered neither one of these luxury homes, but the today's government gives them the right to legalize them under specific fees.

How many are -all over Greece- the illegal constructions that having been built near the sea, preventing the free access of citizens? Over 70,000! Attica, the Peloponnese and Evia have been converted into places for trespassers since in those areas are identified 4 of 10 illegal estates nationwide.

The government attempts through a bill of MOF which is under consultation, to "arrange" those properties by enabling abusers to "buy" their legitimization if they own them at least 20 years without interruption, until the 31-12-2013.

The icing on the cake is that the bill sets as a precondition for the legitimization of the illegal constructions, them to serving business, public and research purposes, although it is a known secret that thousands of illegal cottages have erected in the seashores.

It is patently clear that when passed the bill would "rain fall" the statements on research and scientific purposes!

A sample of the extent of the problem is that only in Attica recorded 2,540 illegal properties which equivalent to an area of 23,000 acres, four times that of the land property in Hellinikon. In Northern Greece, first town in illegal buildings is Serres where they reach 2,800, followed by 2,000 in Kozani.

For many of the illegal estate was attempted in the past their settlement through acquisition, but the process was never completed.

Now came the time - as passed the required twenty years of ownership - to make reality of a dream and some may be a step away from the pool of their villa in their "private" beach.

Besides, the state itself is anxious to clear up the legal landscape of 72,000 government property that has been in the hands of the Company Property Bills (ETAD). Because ETAD is already in litigation with private individuals for many of these properties (land, etc.) had to find a way to share the "cheese" to cease litigation.

The above are only characterized as shameful and is certain that a well-governed society would not legitimize the illegality of the few against the many.

The government should review the relevant resolutions and to punish the illegality, before the coastal areas would be converted into unregulated areas with illegal building.
