Three Greek products could be exempt from the Russian embargo
The Russian official pledged to address a letter to the Russian prime minister recommending that the three Greek products be exempt from the embargo imposed by Russia last August on all fruits and vegetables coming from EU countries as a countermeasure to the community sanctions on the country.
He said that the Greek demand is realistic, adding that "sanctions are not a permanent measure" and at some point the embargo issue will be settled "as there are always more peaceful measures to solve issues."
The embargo on the European products "will be lifted at some point, possibly soon," he said in response to a question by ANA-MPA, adding that "it is hard to say when" and a lot will depend on whether more sanctions will be imposed on Russia by the EU.
On his part, the deputy minister expressed optimism that the Greek request will be accepted.
