PM Tsipras in Parliament: Doomsday scenarios are finished

"The draft law that is being discussed today confirms that the Greek economy is recovering, that the government will not cut pensions, that the government has approved paybacks, and that it will distribute a social dividend and restore injustices," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Thursday.

Tsipras was addressing the Parliament during a debate on the reduction of social security contributions for self-employed and farmers.

"Doomsday scenarios are finished," Tsipras said adding that there will be significant social security reductions for 250,000 self-employed. The prime minister explained that the measure is not temporary, but it is incorporated in the policy being implemented the past three years.
