"Over the last three months we have come a long way to arrive at an ambitious response to the COVID-19 crisis. There is absolutely no reason not to have an agreement at this meeting. The principles of European unity and European solidarity are at stake. We must not lose sight of the big picture, and the big picture is that we are facing the biggest economic downturn since World War II. Some compromises may be necessary, but we must be sure that we are achieving an ambitious solution, because our citizens do not expect anything less from us," Mitsotakis underlined.
