In a message posted on Twitter, main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras congratulated Joe Biden on winning the elections in the United States, noting the large voter turnout as proof that "democracy is and will be thriving" when people participate and vote for their future. The message was posted on Saturday evening Greek time, after the result was called.
