Floodwater cut off Vravronos Avenue at the 3rd kilometre at Vrysi in Markopoulo, and both lanes on Arionos Street in Rafina, while Myllerou Street in central Athens was closed between Agisilaou Street and Pireos Street due to an old building made unsafe by the rain.

Also closed down since Sunday afternoon was the side road on Vouliagmenis Avenue near the old airport.

The fire brigade received 23 calls to remove fallen trees, some of which had damaged parked cars, mostly from the southern suburbs and 13 calls to pump floodwater.
