Tsipras visits Nikea district, discusses price hikes with shop keepers
Syriza noted how people told Tsipras they were scrambling to make ends meet, and that they were going through the toughest winter that they can remember.
"Small and medium-sized enterprises are in despair," noted Tsipras, as "citizens are seeing their purchasing power shrink. To be precise, this situation creates conditions of financial suffocation in the average household, with petrol prices climbing to 2 euros per liter, electricity prices rising two or three times above average, and neither households nor businesses can afford it. It is a non-viable situation, so it is necessary for the government to stop being the traffic warden of various cartels."
Tsipras also underlined "the need for immediate national elections, that will give rise to a progressive government which can support businesses and households.
