SYRIZA's Achtsioglou: Power pass a 'double deceit'

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance sector-head for economic issues, Effie Achtsioglou, on Friday said that there was a general outcry over the Power Pass and the citizens were rightly incensed. Achtsioglou said that Greece is at a very difficult conjucture, with a government that has brought it to extremely negative positions in terms of energy inflation and disproportionate cost of fuel, relative to incomes. She underlined the need for measures, both regulative and in taxation, in the energy market to cap wholesale and retail prices and the energy companies profits.

Finally, she said that the government's aim is to facilitate the economic interest of the oligarchs and for this "a change in government is a social necessity".
