The decision taken by former deputy minister Christos Triantopoulos to forego a preliminary investigation by Parliament and be referred directly to the judicial system regarding his actions at the Tempi accident site was "extremely brave politically" and "exceedingly fair", Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou said in an interview with ERT public television on Thursday.

Regarding the "MyStreet" application, he said that in addition to its main purpose of reporting violations involving public urban space, "it is the beginning of creating a central, official tool for what exists in our city."

Papastergiou reiterated that digitalisation will provide solutions to corruption issues that regularly come to light. "Corruption is the daughter of bureaucracy. Less bureaucracy, more digitalisation, less corruption," he said characteristically, while regarding Gov.gr Wallet and the citizen's mailbox, he said that "it will probably go into operation today. The next version will be released in about 15 days. The citizen's mailbox will be the direct means of communication between public administration and the citizen."
