«Mutual understanding is the soul of the International Law»
The Minister of National Defense was the basic speaker in Harvard’s University Congress about the future of Europe.
He also stressed: “We have two enemies in front of us: the nationalistic extremism and authority. Extremism as political practice reminds the darkest periods of human History and authority as behavior and methodology, undermines what was conquered by the civilized world in the postwar period.
This period proved that our relations, between the Western world and Russia were not a game which brought catholic predominance of one side only (zero sum game). On the contrary a modus operandi was found, that brought the desirable stability, while at the same time formed a common frontal confrontation of terrorism and fundamentalism. Cooperating together we created the worldwide common architecture”.
And led: “Now it is again the hour we reaffirm our engagement in the value of reciprocal comprehension and agreement. The reciprocal comprehension is the soul of International Law. We can’t have a world that is conditioned by the principals of International Law, if the same time we really do not care about realistic solutions for safety matters. We can’t have a stable world without respecting the laws and the practice of International Law. Political prudence should be our driver, along with historical experience. Let’s not repeat our villain selves that always lurk”.
