New Democracy is the party that serves national unity, party leader Meimarakis says
In his speech Meimarakis stressed that Greece goes through critical times and accused the government of having lost precious time over the last six months at the expense of the country.
“The country goes through crucial times. These days are critical. A lot has been lost in recent months. With huge cost. We have returned to the deepest crisis over the last six months. We were on growth course and we have returned to downturn. Now we are going back into recession. Unemployment had started to decrease, and now is again on the rise. The economy has frozen," Meimarakis noted.
"The dangers are ahead. Citizens are not allowed to pretend that they do not understand it because they are also responsible for their political behavior,” he stressed.
"The memoranda were the necessary policy for the country to go back on track. The last opportunity cannot be missed. The conflict with reason and reality costs," he said.
Meimarakis concluded that New Democracy is the party that serves national unity.
