Frigate 'Kanaris' stuck in shallow waters
The Greek Navy frigate "Kanaris" on Thursday morning ran aground and stuck in shallow waters near the islet Atalanti, southwest of Psytallia in the Saronic Gulf.
The frigate was returning from a scheduled operation at Salamina naval base.
According to the General Staff "there were no injuries or any material damage. No water inflow or fuel spill was observed."
The Hellenic Navy is carrying out an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
