Police round up over 15 people in Exarcha

Police had rounded up over 15 people by late noon on Sunday, the 12th anniversary of the murder of teenager Alexandros Grigoropoulos by a police officer, and took them to a police station.

The individuals were at the Exarchia area in downtown Athens.

Police have prohibited public gatherings, especially at Messolongiou and Tzavella Streets in Exarchia, where the teenager was killed on December 6, 2008 by policeman Epaminondas Korkoneas. Other areas are being patrolled also for reasons of preventing the spread of coronavirus
