Tight security measures for the inauguration of Kasidiaris
Special operations of the police to prevent conflicts. "We wanted to put the thieves in prison, but they put us," said Kasidiaris to happy supporters of the Golden Dawn.
He was greeted outside Technopolis in Gazi, before he gave his oath as alderman of Athens. For this reason he was given a special leave from prison. The inauguration of the new council of the municipality of Athens took place under strict security measures, as the police devised a specific plan to avoid incidents during the ceremony knowing fascist concentrations were planned from supporters of the Golden Dawn. "Greece belongs to the Greeks" they shouted with the member of the party Ilias Panagiotaros starring and screaming to Kasidiaris: "Courage, all will go well".
Strong police forces deployed around the auditorium, while the turnout is permitted only to those who have an invitation. At the same time, specially trained police dogs investigate each area of the amphitheater.
Under tight security and accompanied by strong police forces, Kasidiaris was moved, in order to swear as an alderman.
Urania, the daughter of Nikos Michaloliakos, also gave her oath, as she was elected city councilor.
A conflict with Panagiotaros occurred shortly before the inauguration of the new council of Athens. He tried to get into the hall of the auditorium, where the ceremony was taking place, without having an invitation. He insisted that he's a member of the Greek Parliament and must be allowed to enter. There was tension and a police intervention was needed to calm everyone.
