Passenger train derails in Belgium, casualties reported
A passenger train has derailed on the way from Leuven to Brussels in Belgium, with about 20 people possibly injured, a spokesperson for railway operator SNCB told local media.
Traffic in the vicinity of Leuven has been disrupted due to the derailment, according to a press release by Belgian Rail.
One death has been reported by local VTM Nieuws media outlet, which cited firefighters at the scene.
The outlet also reported that there were about a hundred people on the train, and at least one carriage overturned.
The cause of the incident remains unknown so far.
