Former co-owner of Panathinaikos basketball club Thanassis Giannakopoulos dies
Thanassis Giannakopoulos, former president of Panathinaikos volleyball team, died on Tuesday at the age of 88.
Thanassis Giannakopoulos and his brother Pavlos were co-owners of the Panathinaikos basketball club from 1992 to 2012.
After the death of his brother Pavlos he became president of the pharmaceutical company VIANEX.
In a tweet, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that Thanassis Giannakopoulos' loss leaves a huge gap in the field of sports and entrepreneurship.
