ANA organises webinar: 'Metaverse beyond the hype: feasibility, opportunities and challenges'
The Athens-Macedonian News Agency organizes on Wednesday, at 18:00, an online discussion on "Metaverse beyond the hype: feasibility, opportunities and challenges" as part of a series of webinars on technology.
The discussion will seek to answer questions such as:
What exactly is the famous Metaverse? Big companies (Coca-Cola, Nike, Gucci, Louis Vuitton), but also famous artists (Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Ozzy Osbourne), try new business models in Metaverse, mainly through NFTs. In the development of this "meta-universe", which combines the physical with the virtual world and invites us to talk and trade with each other, to work and have fun through avatars, billions of euros are already invested, while in its precursor forms, such as virtual world of "Decentraland", has attracted states such as the islands of Barbados that have announced the creation of a digital embassy.
According to a recent Bloomberg analysis, the global Metaverse market could reach 800 billion dollars in 2024. However, the future is unpredictable, especially when it comes to cutting-edge technologies.
Will Metaverse remain an (expensive) business dream?
How likely is it that it will become a reality in the next decade or fifteen years?
What are the main constraints that exist today in terms of human nature, technology, but also what is the readiness of the market to accept it?
How does virtual reality work in the world of Metaverse and what possibilities can it create, e.g. to treat chronic pain in patients?
What are the issues that are likely to arise, both in terms of ethics and security?
What is the biggest challenge for governments today in terms of technology development and what is the role of literacy for the future in wisely managing the challenges that arise in this new world?
