Ierapetra: The crime was premeditated - What does the coroner say?
The heinous crime that has shocked Crete seems to be premeditated.
According to the evidence, the 55 year old pharmacist in Ierapetra, killed in cold blood his 75 year old father and his 42 year old sister.
Both the police investigation and the coroner are talking about a tragedy that was planned until the last detail. The coroner stated that it was an execution, since the father was shot from very close range.
The 55 year old man used a 9mm pistol and shot his father once on the forehead and 2-3 times on the chest. Earlier, the 55 year old man had killed his sister by shooting her with the same gun from half a meter.
The last act of the crime was that the 55 year old man turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. It is worth noting that the gun he was holding belonged to Shooting Association of the region.
It was a terrible shock for the local community which still do not seem to have recovered from the tragedy. Those who knew the 55 year old man said that he had severe economic problems and seems that the cause of the tragedy was the family assets.
However, reports indicate that the perpetrator had psychological problems, while were found notes in his pockets concerning his will and settlement assets.
