Moscovici says he is proud that he resisted Grexit speculations
European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici said on Thursday that he was proud of himself for having resisted speculations over Grexit. During the presentation of his new book "Dans ce clair-obscur surgissent les monstres", he said that France and he personally were always on the side of Greece.
Regarding the prospects of the Greek economy, he said: "I will be very happy when during this summer - because this will happen - Greece exits the programme and is able to decide its own destiny, provided that the efforts continue to the end."
He added that this is the message he relayed to Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos. "Greece has covered 90 pct of the route, but the last measures are important."
