President Sakellaropoulou receives Education Min Kerameus
The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Wednesday received the Minister of Education and Religion Niki Kerameus at the Presidential Mansion. Keramenus briefed her on the reopening of the educational structures, as well as the bill aiming to improve the school system.
Sakellaropoulou stressed the importance of students physically attending their schools in terms of educational work but chiefly in terms of sociability and social contact, adding that it was very crucial to reopen schools. At the same time, she said that she understood the concerns of parents and the government, but noted that everything was being done with caution, following the guidance of experts, and expressed her hopes that everything will go well.
The president also praised the contribution of teachers, noting that behind all creativity, behind every achievement of the school are enlightened teachers.
In fact, she said that education, which is so important for the country and for society, has encountered several problems during the pandemic lockdown, while adding that the bet has been won and great steps have been taken in relation to digital education and digitisation generally.
On her part, Kerameus referred to the reopening of educational structures, always based on the instructions of experts, with careful steps, with protection and prevention measures, but allowing the students to return to their schools and at the same time spoke about the new bill, which concerns the upgrading of schools.
