The most beautiful sea caves in Greece
Greece has many "secret" landscapes - Kastelorizo, Zakynthos, Milos are just some of the islands that hide impressive sea caves.

Greece every summer attracts millions of tourists who come to experience the summer and the history of this magical place.
The beaches, the picturesque alleyways and the islands are worldwide known, and Greeks and foreigners, from all over the world, visit them every summer.
However, one of the most beautiful places in our country is the sea caves, hidden in the unexplored and more 'hostile' sides of the islands.
Let's take a look
Meganissi
Cave Papanikoli

One of the most beautiful caves internationally, is the marine cave in Meganisi, which was used during the Second World War as a base of the "Papanikolis" submarine.
Is located in Meganissi and you can visit it, by sea. It is a deep sea cave (of about thirty meters deep), with a little sand beach inside. Here in the same cave the legend says that during the Turkish occupation, found refuge a priest with his students, to escape from the pirates.
The caver Petrocheilos Anna has described the cave "Papanikoli" as the largest marine cave today around the world, noting that the beauty and size surpasses the famous "Blue Grotto" in Capri.
Kastelorizo
The Cave Parasta
The Cave of Parasta or otherwise the hole of Parasta is like an eerie blue palace, since its large size and the impressive towering dome (35 meters) with white stalactites create a mysterious effect, in all shades of blue.
This is why the locals also call this Blue Cave, and Fokiali since it host Monachus-monachus seals, usually unseen from the guests.
Access to the interior is done with low boats, during the days with calm weather, and the passengers will have to bend over to pass the entrance.

Milos
Cave Papafragas

The cave of Papafragas is a deep sea cave, where you can swim in turquoise waters among grayish rocks leading to the open sea.
The beach area is small, surrounded by towering cliffs and to get there you have to walk on a steep carving on the rock.
In Byzantine times it was used as base of operations for pirates and took its name from the last franc priest who used the beach to protect his boat.
Zakynthos
Keri Caves

Keri Caves are located on the southwest coast of Zakynthos, in Keri peninsula. The water is crystal clear because of light reflection.
Some caves are small but others are larger allowing small boats to enter them.
Furthermore, they host different animal species such as bats, Monachus seals, Caretta caretta sea turtles and various species of fish and are ideal for diving.
Koufonisi
Gala
Gala is a miniature beach after Pori, which is not visited by many tourists because they do not know about it or are tired from walking to Pori!
It's so small, surrounded by rocks, a small puddle full of surprises. The color of the water is actually reminiscent of ouzo or watery milk.
