Interior Min Skourletis: A mutually accepted name with geographical qualifier for Skopje
The name issue has persisted for decades and this is an opportunity to solve it, Interior Minister Panos Skourletis noted on Monday in statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency's radio station Praktoreio 104.9 FM.
Skourletis underlined that the solution must be a mutually acceptable name with a geographical qualifier for all uses for Skopje, adding that this name must be accepted by a majority in society and in parliament.
The name issue will be a yardstick for judging the credibility of all the political forces, he said and stressed that this is a chance for Greece establish itself as a pillar of security and stability in the wider region.
