Stathakis: Forestland registration more than half complete
Forestland registration has been completed for 57% of Greek territory, Environment and Energy Minister George Stathakis said on Monday, speaking on Crete.
During comments to the press at an event of the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece on "Forestland maps, a window into the future," Stathakis said that the entries have been confirmed, and expected the forest registration - part of a greater effort to register both private and public properties under a cadastre - will be 80% to 90% complete by the end of 2019.
"Forestland maps are necessary for the completion of the (national) cadastre, along with the ongoing registration of shorelines," Stathakis said, allowing Greece to have a proper picture as of 2020 of its land uses and shorelines.
